Melanie Macbeth, O.D.

 
Dr. Melanie Macbeth received her doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2004, and shortly after joined our practice as an optometrist.  Graduating in the top three percent of her class, Dr. Macbeth has a wide variety of experience in ocular disease, pediatric optometry, and specialty contact lenses, and is certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy (orthokeratrology).  For more information on Corneal Refractive Therapy, select Orthokeratology under the Contact Lenses tab (above).

Her clinical experience during optometry school includes training at the Lahey Clinic, East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, VA Hospitals, the Perkins School for the Blind, Boston Medical Center, and the New England Eye Institute.  Dr. Macbeth was a co-founder and President of the Massachusetts Society of Optometry Students organization. She was awarded the Student Leadership Award by the American Optometric Association, and Contact Lens Excellence award by the RGP Lens Institute.  Dr. Macbeth is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO). 
 
Prior to her optometry career, Dr. Macbeth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Colby College in 1997.  Dr. Macbeth currently lives in Waltham with her husband Roger and their children, Lukas and Mia.
