SEPTEMBER 2011: Dr. Macbeth's son Lukas recently had his annual eye exam in our office, and he was very excited to find out that he needs glasses! The glasses correct his astigmatism and help his eyes work better together. We made the glasses just in time for his first day of kindergarten! |

AUGUST 2011: Thank you to everyone that attended our Back to School Day on August 25th! We saw many patients, and Crazy Davy kept children and their families entertained with magic tricks and balloon animals. Each patient received complimentary Optomap retinal images, which were taken with our new machine! Everyone had a great time, and we can't wait to see you again next year!

AUGUST 2011: Most of our patients have already seen an Optomap Retinal Image of thier own eyes. Our office now has the newest version of the machine, allowing us to more easily compare current photos to those taken previously. Although most insurance plans do not cover retinal imaging in presumed healthy patients, our doctors agree that it is the best way to evaluate the retina. We all agree that the images taken with our new machine are crisper than with our previous machine!
JULY 2011: Back to School Day will be held on August 25, 2011! Our office examines patients of all ages, but on Back to School Day, we see only children between the ages of 5 and 17. Each child will have a comprehensive eye examination, which will include a vision exam, complete eye health assessment, and binocular vision evaluation. Each child will also receive complimentary Optomap retinal images (a special digital picture of the back of the eye). At the end of the exam, children will be given a prescription for one ice cream cone, redeemable at Brigham's, just down the road from our office! While waiting children will enjoy coloring and movies, and will also be entertained by our guest, magician Crazy Davy! Contact our office as soon as possible to schedule an appointment!
JULY 2011: Due to the 4th of July holiday, our office will be CLOSED Saturday July 2nd, 2011 through Monday July 4th, 2011. We will resume regular office hours on Tuesday July 5th, 2011. We apologize for any inconvenience. Enjoy a safe and happy holiday weekend! In case of an emergency, please contact the on-call optometrist at pager number (617) 685-1000. A network optometrist will return your page as soon as possible. Please see our website's Emergencies tab (above) for more information.

JUNE 2008: One memorable patient from Dr. Bennett's volunteer VOSH trip to Armenia, was a 9 year old girl. This young girl was amblyopic in both eyes due to large amounts of astigmatism. This past May, the young patient and her mother made a trip to the United States, where Dr. Bennett was able fit her complicated prescription with rigid gas permeable contact lenses. After a long and difficult process, she left the office with a smile on her face, as she would be returning to Armenia seeing the world through her new lenses. | |
MARCH 2008: Congratulations to Wenxiao Li, a freshman at Belmont High School, for winning our raffle at the high school Health and Wellness Fair! The fair took place March 12, 2008, and we chose to highlight the importance of eye safety during sports. Students were given the opportunity to enter a raffle by answering a quiz regarding what they learned at the booth. The prize was an iPod shuffle and a $25 iTunes gift card.
